About
Guen designs and makes distinctive contemporary jewellery, entirely produced by hand using traditional techniques in her Cotswold studio.
Inspired by the beauty of the materials she works with, she strives to design affordable pieces of jewellery that have a close relationship with the wearer, enjoying the restrictions and challenges that this imposes.
She uses 18ct gold, silver with 18ct gold and also platinum. Gemstones range from diamonds to subtly coloured rainbow moonstones and tourmalines, set in earrings, rings and necklaces that sometimes include beads and cultured freshwater pearls.
The making process usually starts with gold or silver sheet, which is then cut out and constructed as the design dictates. In much of the work, surface decoration is applied with a steel punch creating a delicate and intricate texture. Each unique piece is invested with care and precision.
Guen’s jewellery is sold direct from her workshop, by appointment and also from a number of galleries. She also works to commission creating pieces for both men and women for weddings, anniversaries and other special occasions.
